Back in April we announced that LES MILLS BARRE was supporting The Sebastian Foundation. Today, we are honoured to announce that your support of LES MILLS BARRE – through bringing the program in to your facility or training in the program – has contributed to funding a new community project through The Sebastian Foundation:
A new kitchen and workspace in a housing estate in Maroubra NSW. This area has been identified as a hot-spot of anti-social behavior and the community centre will provide underprivileged residents a place they can go for support, inspiration and care, with hope to change the face of the area for decades to come.
Scott Lambert, National Business Partnership Manager Australia for Les Mills Asia Pacific (LMAP), says the project ties in well with the message that LES MILLS BARRE hopes to get across. “LES MILLS is an inclusive, supportive community and encourages like-minded individuals to join, so we think that the project between LES MILLS BARRE and The Sebastian Foundation is very fitting,” Scott said.
“We’re proud to be funding such an important project that will make a lasting impact in the lives of many, and also to work with an organisation that makes a huge difference in the community.”
The Sebastian Foundation Manager Rebecca Oxenbould says the project is very exciting and the Foundation is very glad to have Les Mills on board.
“We couldn’t do this project without the funding from Les Mills Asia Pacific, so we’re extremely grateful to be able to make a huge impact in the lives of those dealing with underprivilege.”
In conjunction with the launch of the partnership, LMAP ran a competition for those businesses that took on LES MILLS BARRE between April and July: the prize, a coveted Seminar hosted by Jules Sebastian herself at the winning club as well as 5 x $100 Westfield gift vouchers. Congratulations to Engadine Squash & Swim Centre in NSW who will host the 'You do You' Seminar with Jules Sebastian in November for their lucky members. We can’t wait to hear all about it!
